I think it’s safe to say that anyone that lives in a city has travelled with a ride sharing service. It is undeniable that it’s now the best option available for short trips from A to B.
What the general public doesn’t consider, is ‘who is on the losing end of these ridiculously low prices?’. With Ride Share companies taking anywhere from a 15-30% cut from every trip and constantly driving down the rate per/km – drivers are struggling to make more than $1 per/km. It’s modern exploitation.
Working at Ninja Software, I am part of the team trying to make Ride Faire a reality. A new Australian ride sharing platform coming to Perth that is built purely to disrupt the market leaders and bring the profits back into the hands of the drivers, all whilst keeping the same low prices for the passengers.
How is this possible? You can check out the full FAQ @ ridefaire.com, but simply put; we just don’t steal a third of what the drivers make.
At launch, Ride Faire will take only 4% of the fare. With drivers keeping over 95% of their fare it would mean the people we rely on for transport are able to make a decent living, and passengers can feel good knowing they are supporting their drivers and a local company.
Ride Faire is still in the spin up stages, but has already captured the interest and support of over 200 Perth based drivers, and several high profile figures stepping into advisory positions.
I have personally had the pleasure of meeting a number of drivers who have come into our office already and offered their help in spreading the word to collect driver registrations; which happens to be the main obstacle preventing us from moving onto the next stage.
Before you dismiss this as just another advertisement, know that the entire team at Ride Faire, myself included, are extremely passionate about the cause.
I have family in the industry and I know too well just how poorly drivers are supported by these companies.
Ride Faire is a truly positive force entering the market.
If you or anyone you know drive for a ride sharing company and can see the merit in supporting Ride Faire, please urge them to visit Ridefaire.com and fill out the short form to register their interest as a driver.
If you want to help us directly by spreading the word, please stop in at our office @

Our friendly team will answer any questions you might have and you can pick up some advertising material and business cards to share at the same time.
We are fast approaching our goal, we just need more drivers. Once we hit our targets we can begin taking back the streets.
